Fue inaugurado en abril de 1914, con el nombre de Weegham Park y renombrado como Cubs Park en 1920, convirtiéndose en el estadio más antiguo de la liga nacional y el segundo de toda la MBL.

Los Chicagos Cubs, conocidos en español como Los Cachorros De Chicago, son un equipo profesional de beisbol cuya casa es Chicago, Illinois, compitiendo en la división central de la Liga Nacional de las Grandes Ligas De Béisbol.

Fue fundado en el año De 1870, con el nombre de Chicago White Stockings, que en 1876 se unieron a la NL como miembros fundadores de esta competición; el nombre se cambió a Chicago Colts en 1890, a Chicago Orphans en 1898 y finalmente, la franquicia prefirió el nombre Cubs en 1903.

Han ganado tres series mundiales en los años 1907, 1908 y 2016, diecisiete banderines de la NL, 8 títulos de división y según Forbes, son el decimoséptimo club deportivo más valioso del mundo.

 ILLINOIS STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES ATTRACT HIGHEST NUMBER OF VISITORS IN OVER A DECADE

During National Travel and Tourism Week (May 4-10), Governor Pritzker announced that more than 41 million visitors visited Illinois state parks and historic sites, the highest number in nearly 15 years.  CHICAGO'S FIELD MUSEUM CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF SUE, THE T. REX W/ DINO-THEMED EVENTS ALL SUMMER LONG

SUE the T. rex, the world's largest and most complete adult T.rex ever found, was unveiled to the public on May 17, 2000. Since then, millions of visitors have made the pilgrimage to see the Tyrant Lizard King, standing face-to-face with one of the fiercest predators that ever lived.

The Summer of SUE's main event is Dinopalooza on Saturday, June 7, 10AM-2PM. This is the third annual prehistoric party for dinosaur lovers of all ages. The event will feature a fun-fair full of roaming dinosaur puppets, fossil preparation demonstrations, face painting, local paleoartists, and a museum-wide button scavenger hunt.

On Saturday, April 27, the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) will open its new exhibition, Loop as Lab: Reshaping Downtowns, to the public. The timely exhibition focuses on trends influencing downtowns in Chicago and beyond—such as remote work, increased vacant office space and less retail—and how cities can adapt to these new realities. Focusing on the Loop, the exhibit explores how designers, civic leaders and residents can work together to reshape the city and confront the challenges of the post-COVID era.

U.S. TRAVEL ANNOUNCES NEW CITY, DATES FOR IPW 2021

The U.S. Travel Association has announced that its annual trade show, IPW, will next be held in Las Vegas May 10-14, 2021.

This year's IPW, scheduled to convene in Las Vegas on May 30, was forced to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The previously scheduled 2021 host city, Chicago, agreed to step aside for next year and will assume the host mantle in 2025.
