 REFLECTION: A TEXAN TALE OF FAMILY ADVENTURES

As I sit here, with my faithful reader, I find myself pondering the idea of taking my relatives to San Antonio. You see, it's not just a journey, it's a journey through time, a tumbleweed rolling down the dusty trails of history.

Now, how did I come up with this idea? Well, it was this magazine, there in that old digital bonfire where stories are told and secrets are whispered. They told me about the Alamo, the River Walk, and all those other arrangements that make San Antonio a beautiful spicy place of adventure.

Los Angeles Tourism, the official non-profit destination marketing and sales organization for Los Angeles, today kicked off “The Road to IPW 2024” with a press conference at IPW 2023 in San Antonio, Texas that welcomed over 400 media. The press conference reported the organization’s year-end figures including $34.5 billion in total business sales in 2022, reaching 91 percent of 2019’s record-setting levels. More than 528,200 tourism-related careers were generated last year along with $3 billion in state and local taxes supporting essential services for all Angelenos. The announcement comes as Los Angeles continues to spotlight the new experiences and product that make up “LA 2.0” and prepares to welcome U.S. Travel Association’s international inbound travel show, IPW, May 3-7, 2024.

Nearly 5,000 attendees from more than 60 countries gathered in San Antonio, Texas, May 20-24 for the 54th annual IPW—the travel industry's premier international marketplace and the largest generator of inbound travel to the United States.

“The thousands of attendees we welcomed this week is indicative of the strong demand we are seeing for inbound travel to the U.S.,” said U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman.

With the anticipated positive return of global travel, and the pent-up demand for new, authentic American cities to discover, San Antonio is looking forward to a successful IPW that will wow visitors with its culture, culinary, history, art, entertainment and natural wonders.

U.S. TRAVEL ANNOUNCES NEW CITY, DATES FOR IPW 2021

The U.S. Travel Association has announced that its annual trade show, IPW, will next be held in Las Vegas May 10-14, 2021.

This year's IPW, scheduled to convene in Las Vegas on May 30, was forced to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The previously scheduled 2021 host city, Chicago, agreed to step aside for next year and will assume the host mantle in 2025.
